Monday 30th December ***** Les Arc skiing
We decided to have a four hour lift pass which only saves £12 but it is a
perfect amount of time for us. We drove to the funicular after taking ages
to clear the bloomin windscreen of ice! We got to the car park and Lee had
decided to move the car after unloading the skis and reversed over Will’s
skis and damaged the bindings so they had to pay 3 euros to get out of the
car park and went to a ski shop to hire some. We then discovered there was
a ski shop near the funicular! Michael Schumacher the racing driver has
fallen over skiing at Meribel and is in a coma after having a brain
haemorrhage! So Mag has a helmet back on again today. We eventually went
up and over towards vallandry which was our plan but the others decided to
go back over to the slopes we were on yesterday. We had a brilliant time
up and down very quiet slopes with no queues and plenty of room. We had
our lunch at the top of 66 near the tables of orientation and then went
right down to the village where we first learnt. Decided we had better
start coming back and found a good way across which included a beautiful
path with the most amazing berry trees with snow still on them. Loved it.
Got back to the funicular a few minutes late but although the turnstile
wouldn’t let us through the attendant did it with his card:) We came
back and had a coffee and snack and a chat with Linda who is feeling a bit
queasy today:( We went to check out the swimming pool and I did 25
lengths:) It was a beautiful pool and we also had a sit in the sauna and
hamam. The hamam steam room smelt of menthol and we did manage to stay in
it for 5 minutes! Back up to the flat for a session on the computer and
tea prepared by Simon and Natasha.
